Person A : Bad.
Libra : Good!
Person A : Yes
Libra : No.
Person A : Don’t you think she’s beautiful?
Libra : Yes yes, but she’s also a bit of a tom boy don’t you think?
At the grocery store :
Libra : Chicken or beef. Well, chicken probably has less saturated fat. But Beef would be so perfect with the sauce that i’m making! Oh but chicken would be healthier and would bring a different flavour to the dish. Oh honey what do you think?
Libra’s Spouse/SO : Uh… beef sounds good.
Libra : But it has more fat.
Libra’s Spouse/SO : So?
Libra : *Lost in decision-making thoughts*
Libra’s Spouse : Uh… how about chicken?
Libra : Chicken… chicken. Yes! Sounds right. Good choice. Chicken it is.
As they leave the meat aisle, Libra furtively turns his/her head, wondering if he/she has made the correct decision.
(the following example is based on a real conversation with a Libra Sun & Venus)
Libra’s friend : So what did you think of that movie?
Libra : The beginning was boring.
Libra’s friend : Yes, but did you like it?
Libra : I never said I didn’t like it. I said the beginning was boring. But yes, the movie was quite good.
Libra’s friend : *puzzled*
From Relationship Signs by Linda Goodman :
The reason Libra is symbolized by the Scales is because more Librans have minds so delicately adjusted that no sooner does an idea enter than a contradictory idea is automatically suggested. Can you conceive what it would be like to be cursed with such a mind? Someone says HOT, the computer card flashes COLD. Someone feeds in LONG, you pop out with SHORT. If you hear FAST, you instantly think SLOW. If you hear SLOW, you think FAST. You feel UP, you look DOWN. You feel DOWN, you look UP. Are you still there? Sit down and close your eyes for a moment. The dizziness will pass. Now do you understand why so many Libra people walk around with a dazed look on their beautiful, evenly matched features and a faraway expression in their lovely eyes – half the time? The other half of the time they are doing the exact opposite – staring at you alertly and intently, agitating their air essence into a tornado or making eloquent, impassioned speeches. That’s the way it goes (comes!) with these teetering-tottering souls; whatever occurs, they must immediately accentuate the opposite.

There’s no doubt about it- no side-stepping or smoothly & subtly maneuvering over it…As our stellium in Capricorn progresses, I continue to see more and more of the same themes over and over. Planets in Capricorn emphasize longevity, practicality, work even… Saturn traditionally represents restrictions, discipline, staying power, and endurance… and just to make a clarification, Saturn doesn’t “make” things happen! Saturn just brings them to the light… for example they say when Saturn transits your Midheaven that’s when you either meet with great success ( As Saturn rules the 10th house of career, life path ) or great disappointment. The Fruits of Our Labor. Saturn isn’t like Jupiter, where luck simply falls out of the sky. With Saturn, you’ve got to put work into wherever Saturn is emphasized in your chart ( and transit-wise too.).
Now with Saturn in Libra, the focus is highly personal and in the sphere of relationships ( not so much work as it was in Virgo ) very significant. A lot of astrologers have been echoing these themes, but yes, Saturn “tests” and relationships will be tested, for better or for worse. And I mean all kinds of relationships; friendship, romance, familial, the list goes on. Now, there should be some added significance with our stellium in Capricorn ( Sun, Venus, Mercury, Pluto ) as Saturn rules Capricorn. Venus, the goddess of love, the planet of relating to others, in Capricorn would only exaggerate that. Saturn says, “Play your cards right, and you’ll be on the money. Don’t, and well… you’ll see consequences.” As Elsa said in her blog, those who have been following the tenets of Saturn, will reap the rewards or go as it were, but those who haven’t will have to review their game plan.
Saturn is considered “exalted” in Libra, and although I say often that the highest notes of the planet can be manifested in the sign of exaltation, there is another way to describe it, which I find fits quite well too. Exaltations manifest where the planet is almost like a “guest of honor”. No, it doesn’t quite come off as naturally as dignities, and you’ll see the traits of the planet more defined where you have a planet in dignity. But the planet finds “joy” in the sign, and as indigo ray says of exaltations, “Planet energies are expressed harmoniously with complementary forces and display increased virtues that are magnified. The Planet feels comfortable in this friend’s home.”
I can tell you what Saturn in Libra is not. It is not simply an influence where relationships become challenging and people are more inclined to cut-ties simply out of impulse. It simply brings the underbelly to the surface. Reveals the raw, fleshy, vulnerable parts of the relationship, things that might have otherwise been swept beneath the rug ( even moreso with Pluto in Capricorn ). Tensions that have been building, but failed to be expressed outwardly. People are examining their relationships now, and thinking to themselves : “Does this hold weight? Is it worth maintaining?” It isn’t delivering shit, its simply bringing things to the surface. Saturn is the Gate Keeper and he looks over you and what you have done. If you pass the test, he shall open doors to “The Kingdom”. But lets say you don’t pass the test, because well, sometimes people are human and humans make mistakes. Saturn shakes his head, “Keep trying, and then return to me.”
Sometimes tension can be built up for so long that the kettle finally bursts and you have an explosion. Or you have someone darting for the door. Or you have someone passively aggressively acting as if nothing is wrong, yet it is the other who wises up and looks at his/her watch and says,”Times up.”
Those who have been following the laws of Saturn will find that this period has quite stabilizing influence. You might think, “Hey, you know… maybe Saturn’s not such a malevolent doom-bringer after all!”

Here are several short length, and at times humorous, interpretations of astrology aspects and planets in signs/houses that the members of the Livejournal Astrology Community volunteered. Because sometimes, the shorter the better
Now, note that this is not a comprehensive list of aspects, just ones that people have offered, from their perspective ( ..And remember, aspects can be generalized just as Sun Signs can.. and that there are two sides to everything. )

Planets in Motion : The Moon leaves Capricorn for Aquarius during the weekend December 18, 2009

[Lucy] ran towards the far off patch of daylight as quickly as her legs would carry her. And presently instead of rough branch brushing past her she felt coats and instead of crunching snow under her feet she felt wooden board, and all at once she found herself jumping out of the wardrobe into the same empty room from which the whole adventure had started. She shut the wardrobe door tightly behind her and looked around, panting for breath. It was still raining and she could hear the voices of the others in the passage.
“I’m here,” she shouted. “I’m here. I’ve come back and I’m all right.”
The Moon leaves Capricorn for Aquarius, a nice atmosphere for social-gatherings. It is supported by Saturn in Libra- with a trine aspect, a good balance to set an emotional equilibrium. The Sun & Venus in Sagittarius are still in square aspect to Uranus in Pisces, increasing the desire for something out of the ordinary, the routine. Venus also receives a trine from Mars in Leo, so if a night out or spending time with a loved one is on your agenda, the planets are certainly in your favor.
Famous Sagittarian Ladies December 17, 2009

The Sun is soon to leave boundless, playful, expansive Sagittarius for concrete, serious, work-oriented Capricorn. Minds are directed towards more practical matters, with Mercury already stationed there.
And a quick post about a few lovely Sagittarius ladies.

from the top left; Sagittarians Joanna “JoJo” Levesque, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Vanessa Hudgens, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera
I’ve always thought it was strange that the female “Icons” of my generation tended to be Sags. First there was Britney Spears, then Christina Aguilera, and lo and behold, Miley Cyrus for this generation! What is it about Sagittarians that make them so lucky in the limelight? Though I find that Disney has a penchant for fire signs as their top disney stars ( all of the aforementioned stars having once been part of Disney. Leos Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato seem to be taking the stage, right now, as “the” signature disney gals. ). Vanessa Hudgens is also a Sun Sagittarius, but not as fond of the others to bask in the fame with her more shy & retiring Pisces moon ( but I’m likewise sure that the Pisces moon is why she was able to play the perfect sweetheart in Highschool Musical, which seems to have taken the childrens/adolescent world by storm. ). Even Libra Sun Hilary Duff, as many may recall as being a huge hit years back, had a Sagittarius moon. I could see how the nature of outgoing, frank, jovial Sag could appeal to a large mass of people. Jupiter certainly had its effect on the lives of these Sags. And who can forget Country/Pop music sweetheart, Sagittarius Sun Taylor Swift. The Jupiter/Moon blend is quite distinct in Swift—being that her Moon falls into its natural sign, Cancer, it seems to be a dominant planet in her chart. It softens the impetuous, restless nature of Sag and perhaps domesticates it to a certain extent, but the bouncy laugh-out-loud fun-loving qualities of Jupiter/Sag remain inherent in her sweet, honest personality.

As with all New Moons, it’s a good time to start directing energy towards new beginnings; being in Sagittarius we might reexamine our life philosophies… are they fulfilling us? Are we being fulfilled in a certain area or is it time for a change? ( Look at the house where the new moon falls for more insight. The nature of the house should tell you which area in your life this new moon takes place) The archer seeks to learn, expand his horizons, and often hope and faith are his main tools to get where he desires. The New moon in 24-25 degrees Sagittarius receives a square from Uranus in Pisces, which could indicate sudden inspiration, perhaps by unfamiliar means. With Saturn still in Libra, just be mindful not to carry more than you are able. Be practical, but dream big ( Jupiter-Neptune )
~
dreams, like small, precious pebbles
watch before they slip from your hands-
draw them towards the sun, and see them sparkle in their full glory
~
skipping stones
never thought that these rocks could fly
until i tried
~
heart be still;
the dark cannot linger forever
watch the horizon, for the dawn is not far behind us

The Moon moves from buoyant, feel-good Sagittarius into somber, methodical, practical, work-minded Capricorn. It conjuncts Pluto in Capricorn, so if you’ve any cobwebs in your subconscious, it’s a good day to air out. Emotional cartharsis. Self analyzation. Possible crisis. Smouldering feelings and/or the risk of being overwhelmed. Jealousy and reading into motives that aren’t there.
..the story of icarus, by anonymous..
Among all those mortals who grew so wise that they learned the secrets of the gods, none was more cunning than Daedalus.
He once built, for King Minos of Crete, a wonderful Labyrinth of winding ways so cunningly tangled up and twisted around that, once inside, you could never find your way out again without a magic clue. But the King’s favor veered with the wind, and one day he had his master architect imprisoned in a tower. Daedalus managed to escape from his cell; but it seemed impossible to leave the island, since every ship that came or went was well guarded by order of the King.
At length, watching the sea gulls in the air the only creatures that were sure of liberty-he thought of a plan for himself and his young son Icarus, who was captive with him.
Little by little, he gathered a store of feathers great and small. He fastened these together with thread, molded them in with wax, and so fashioned two great wings like those of a bird. When they were done, Daedalus fitted them to his own shoulders, and after one or two efforts, he found that by waving his arms he could winnow the air and cleave it, as a swimmer does the sea. He held himself aloft, wavered this way and that with the wind, and at last, like a great fledgling, he learned to fly.
Without delay, he fell to work on a pair of wings for the boy Icarus and taught him carefully how to use them, bidding him beware of rash adventures among the stars. "Remember," said the father, "never to fly very low or very high, for the fogs about the earth would weigh you down, but the blaze of the sun will surely melt your feathers apart if you go too near."
For Icarus, these cautions went in at one ear and out by the other. Who could remember to be careful when he was to fly for the first time? Are birds careful? Not they! And not an idea remained in the boy’s head but the one joy of escape.
The day came, and the fair wind that was to set them free. The father-bird put on his wings, and, while the light urged them to be gone, he waited to see that all was well with Icarus, for the two could not fly hand in hand. Up they rose, the boy after his father. The hateful ground of Crete sank beneath them; and the country folk, who caught a glimpse of them when they were high above the treetops, took it for a vision of the gods-Apollo, perhaps, with Cupid after him.
At first there was a terror in the joy. The wide vacancy of the air dazed them-a glance downward made their brains reel. But when a great wind filled their wings, and Icarus felt himself sustained, like a halcyon bird in the hollow of a wave, like a child uplifted by his mother, he forgot everything in the world but joy. He forgot Crete and the other islands that he had passed over: he saw but vaguely that winged thing in the distance before him that was his father Daedalus. He longed for one draft of flight to quench the thirst of his captivity: he stretched out his arms to the sky and made toward the highest heavens.
Alas for him! Warmer and warmer grew the air. Those arms, that had seemed to uphold him, relaxed. His wings wavered, dropped. He fluttered his young hands vainly-he was falling-and in that terror he remembered. The heat of the sun had melted the wax from his wings; the feathers were falling, one by one, like snowflakes; and there was none to help.
He fell like a leaf tossed down by the wind, down, down, with one cry that overtook Daedalus far away. When he returned and sought high and low for the poor boy, he saw nothing but the birdlike feathers afloat on the water, and he knew that Icarus was drowned.

Exaggerated hope, enthusiasm, and good cheer for the present and future is reflected by the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Aquarius currently taking place. The conjunction becomes strongest on the 19th, when Jupiter meets Neptune at 24 degrees Aquarius. The downfall of this seems to be that much of that enthusiasm may be met with dillusionment with the arrival of the next year. It seems especially relevant to the United States, most likely financially as the moon in the natal chart of the U.S.A. lies in 27 degrees Aquarius, which means that transiting Jupiter & Neptune will conjunct U.S.A.’s natal moon. Currently, transiting Pluto is in Capricorn, which is interesting because in the natal charts for both the U.S. and the United Kingdom, the Sun is in Cardinal signs. Perhaps this has added precedence for the United States, because the Sun lies in Cancer conjunct Jupiter, which will soon receive an opposition from Pluto in Capricorn as well as a square aspect from Saturn in Libra. Pluto and Saturn are the “go to” planets in astrology for economics, as well as major changes and upheavals ( Purging, if you will, seems to be the right synonym for Saturn/Pluto ). Recovering from our Neptune in Capricorn generational high where we spent ( Capricorn ) that which we didn’t have ( Neptune ), this transit seems like it is going to be intense on the US financially. We’re still soaring on that wave of “Change” stapled to our heads since Obama took office. And with Saturn on the USA charts’ midheaven and Pluto transiting the first house both making a hard aspect to USA’s Sun ( Ego, Spirit, Energy ) it seems that the crisis most definetely will be a matter which the public/media will be watching very closely ( as the MC and AC are what the world sees ). Having a natal Sun conjunct Jupiter & Venus as the USA does, we have always tended to a very “big” way of living, having pioneered so many inventions on the basis of "convenience” ( internet, computer, microwave, television, radio… the list goes on ) so for those of us who have become accustomed to handling money in a spendthrift manner, will find that the price of a dollar will be changing too fast for our comfort.

Quick look at our current planets for Tuesday..
The Moon is still in expansive, optimistic Sagittarius, receiving a square from Uranus in Pisces. Uranus’ effect tends to mimic a spark of electricity, use it or lose it! Beware of impulses, but on the positive, a greater desire for something “different” or “unusual”. The Sun, Moon and Venus all receive the square from Uranus in Pisces, indicating sudden upsets, “new wind”, change of direction.

With Taurus on the ascendant, you find an individual with a earthy, grounded manner and a soothing nature about them. Venus is the ruler of this rising sign and if not physically attractive, Taurus rising people will exude a fine sense of calm about them as well as possess an endearing sweetness to their nature. Material comforts do appeal to these individuals quite surely, and although they might not dress in attire which is too loud or flamboyant, these individuals will tend to mind their appearance, making sure they are tasteful and presentable to the outside world. In a crowd, they are affable, but reserved. Due to their tendency to gravitate towards stability in all things, they may have a small circle or handful of friends that they depend on, rather than a whole coterie of acquaintences. With Scorpio on the descendant, the Taurus Rising individual will find that people with prominent Scorpio placements and/or Scorpio Suns will be prominent in his/her life. But more than just that, they are attracted to depth, something beyond their reach. George Lucas is an example of this, his fame has come through in the form of science fiction and fantasy. In Star Wars, which has since procured many loyal fans, Lucas captured our imaginations with interesting story lines based on characters and events in outerspace. Similarly, fellow Taurus Rising Carl Sagan, had a lot of interest in space, astronomy, and the planets. He was an author and an astronomer, whom many have quoted for using the term,"Billions & Billions"(referring to the stars ..although if you read his book you’ll realize that he’s actually never uttered those words.) One thing you’ll learn about the Taurus Rising individual is that he is rather stubborn in his/her manners and ways, but luckily their capability for loyalty and pleasing presence soon wins over those who doubt their sincerity.
